Acetate is a textile created from leftover wood, or more precisely, cellulose. To achieve this, the cellulose must react with various chemicals, producing acetate, which is then used to manufacture doll hair.
Why should acetate hair be used?
Acetate feels more “natural”, organic and less artificial than other synthetic hair.
Acetate has the lowest durability of all synthetic types of doll hair, meaning as little strain as possible should be used when working with it. Experienced hobbyists and customizers should not feel discouraged by this wonderful hair, however. The strength of one fiber is comparable to the strength of human hair.
Novices, too, can try this hair. However, it is certainly less durable than nylon.
